About Us

Bomford Plumbing Byron Bay

Bomford Plumbing first began back in 1981 when John Bomford walked off the field from a hard fought Byron Bay Red Devils Grand Final against Tweed Heads Seagulls to claim the Group 18 trophy for regional Rugby League. However, before all this happened John Bomford (aka “JB”) and lovely wife Sherryl, had planned to do the famous road trip around Australia. So they headed South from Manly Warringah North Shore Sydney where they both grew and then headed down along the Great Ocean road then back up through the Centre to Ayers Rock, now Uluru. Then they traveled up to the gulf across to the East Coast. On their way back down to their hometown their car broke down in the (then quiet) little village of Byron Bay. JB then sourced to find plumbing work as they were broke, no car and miles from home.

From here Bomford Plumbing had first started.

One year later JB & Sherryl gave birth to their first and only boy that would eventually come the successor of the business as he is today. Luke, the now director of Bomford Plumbing Pty Ltd has spent almost 20years in the plumbing industry travelling all over Australia refining his trade. His skills have taken him to the top end in WA where he carried the business successfully into the larger mining areas working with Rio Tinto in large scale plumbing projects in some of Australia”s most remote areas. Working with Rio Tinto requires some of the utmost safety procedures in construction that Bomford Plumbing has now taken into the company as their own professional standard.
